Experience Required
We are seeking a proactive Team Leader with 4–6 years of medical coding experience to lead an E&M (Evaluation & Management) coding team. The ideal candidate holds CPC certification or other recognized medical coding credentials, demonstrates strong technical expertise in E&M guidelines, and has experience supervising, mentoring, and driving quality and productivity improvements.
Candidate Requirement
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of E&M coders to achieve accuracy, productivity, and quality targets. Perform complex E&M coding reviews and audits; handle escalations and provide final coding decisions when required. Ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, payer policies, and current E&M documentation and coding guidelines. Monitor team KPIs: coding accuracy, productivity, turnaround time (TAT), denial rates, and quality audit scores. Provide targeted feedback, conduct regular performance reviews, and develop individualized improvement plans. Create and deliver training modules, refresher sessions, and knowledge-sharing workshops focused on E&M updates and best practices. Collaborate with clinical reviewers, coding quality, revenue integrity, and client stakeholders to resolve documentation gaps and systemic issues. Participate in process improvement initiatives, root-cause analyses, and implementation of corrective actions to reduce denials and rework. Maintain updated coding resources, internal guides, and job aids specific to E&M coding scenarios.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred,
Technical Qualification
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred; other recognized medical coding certifications (e.g., CCA, CCS-P) also advantageous.
